Town's Coast Guard housing, once a model of neatness, have been shuttered
CAPE CHARLES -- The nine simple houses on a
valuable parcel of land near the Chesapeake Bay here have been boarded
up since late last year, but no one is saying exactly why.
The two- and three-bedroom single story homes on
Winter Quarters Court off of Jefferson Avenue were built by the Coast
Guard in 1972 and until November were still being occupied by Station
Cape Charles personnel, Chief Jack Williamson said Monday.
