ACCOMAC -- A winter storm that hit early Saturday morning [January 30, 2010] resulted in
up to 10 inches of snow in some parts of Virginia's Eastern Shore,
causing public and independent schools to cancel classes Monday in both
Accomack and Northampton counties.
Reports of snowfall ranged from six inches in parts of Northampton
County to an apparent record 10 inches recorded by the National Weather
Service at Wallops Island.
