 | Retired Marine gives back to junior rifle club |
CHINCOTEAGUE -- When he was a kid, Jack Whitney learned to shoot at a
rifle club as part of a junior team. After a long career in the Marine
Corps and the FBI, where he served as a countersniper and taught
marksmanship, Whitney decided to give back to the sport that started
him off as a shooter.
Recently Whitney, who now lives in Chincoteague, presented his gift of
a junior-optimized competition-ready service rifle to Tyler Hill of
Parksley, who accepted it on behalf of the Service Rifle Team of
NOAAWIVA Sportsmen Inc., a club based at T's Corner.
