 | Supervisors lukewarm on railroad carfloat help |
ACCOMAC -- Two Accomack County supervisors who in December supported a
measure to contribute money toward repairing the barge that transports
railroad cars across the Chesapeake Bay said Wednesday they are having
second thoughts about terms of an agreement with the railroad about the
matter.
After a lengthy discussion, the Board of Supervisors voted 7-2 to ask
the chairman and vice-chairman of the Accomack-Northampton
Transportation District Commission to meet with Accomack County Attorney
Mark Taylor and state Chief of Rail Transportation Kevin Page in an
effort to finalize the agreement.
