ACCOMAC — A $9 million project to build a taxiway and other improvements
at Wallops Research Park got the green light this week after a divided
Accomack County Board of Supervisors authorized issuing bonds to pay for
it.

WALLOPS -- Chamber members from Salisbury, Md., and the Eastern Shore of
Virginia toured the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport recently to view
the progress of a $90 million construction project in preparation for
the 2011 launch of Orbital Sciences' Taurus II rocket.

 | Walmart opens in Onley |
ONLEY -- It was like Black Friday, only the shoppers were wearing shorts. The long-awaited Walmart Supercenter in Onley opened to customers at 8
a.m. Wednesday [July 21, 2010] after a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by what appeared
to be a fair percentage of the Eastern Shore of Virginia's population.

ONLEY — The interior of the new Walmart Supercenter on U. S. Route 13 in
Onley this week was a beehive of activity as over 300 workers — garbed
in the retailer’s trademark khaki pants and navy shirts — stocked
shelves and put on other finishing touches in preparation for the
store’s opening July 21 [2010].

MELFA -- U.S. Sen. Mark Warner said he sees "huge potential" for the
Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport at Wallops and wants to be a champion

GREENBACKVILLE -- Financially troubled Captain's Cove Utility Company

study that valued the U.S. Navy’s annual economic impact on the county
